Fashion is fun. It's a costume created by artists so you can throw it on your body and say, "This says a little something about me, how I feel today." These days, it's really anything goes, or I want to be colorful, or blend in with the crowd, or I gotta be me! I love capturing the glamour and attitude fashion exudes. It's just fun.
I love photographing people, especially the intimacy of the portrait. My mission is to reveal and illuminate something about the spirit of the subject I'm photographing. Sometimes having them in an environment where they thrive brings it out, and hopefully our interaction brings to light a special moment in time when the photo was snapped.
These are the Real Cowgirls of Florida! Linda Ballantine Brown and her daughters Tiffany, Ivey, and Misty run a cattle ranch, ride horses, while wearing the beautiful clothes Linda has designed from her paintings of ranch life. Tiffany held the title of Miss Florida Rodeo. What a great day it was photographing authentic cowgirls!
I have always viewed travel as the great exploration of mind, body and soul. It's this miracle that we can jump on a plane or in a car or train or by foot or horseback and go to places we have never seen before. Meet people from different cultures and backgrounds. It has been a big part of my life. There is a romance about it that you have with all that your senses take in.
Youth and summer. Growing up as a beach rat I can't get enough of capturing the joy of beach life. Summer is always equated with freedom, jumping into the ocean, kissing on the beach, the salt air...
A lot of hard work and training is put into being a volunteer Lifeguard and Recruit for Jacksonville Beach, Florida. The physical stamina and discipline it takes to be prepared to save lives is something to behold amongst these this band of athletes. There is great comradery amongst these dedicated men and women.
I get a big kick out of photographing kids. Let's face it, they are cute and unpredictable.
I'm dog crazy, fond of kitty cats too, and fascinated by the animal kingdom. I'm most interested in photographing people's pets. They bring us so much joy everyday, and as someone put it, "They remind us that life is right now."
